Meet our new Education Director:
Dr. Katherine E. Norman!

Katherine E. Norman (PhD) is an educatorarts practitioner, and researcher focused on how people learn and develop through pretend play and arts practices. See each page for current projects. Through research, practice, and education, Katherine is dedicated to fostering meaningful arts access for all!​

Create-A-Play Day

Create-A-Play Day - The Dictionary Story

In this one-day program, students will participate in games and exercises focused on adaptation. Our April Create-A-Play Day will focus on the delightful book The Dictionary Story by Sam Winston and Oliver Jeffers. Using theatre skills, students will explore ways to bring a story alive in performance! The day culminates in a sharing of the play we create together for family and friends.

*Performance at 2:45pm

Pendragon Theatre (15 Brandy Brook Ave) in Saranac Lake

For students in 1st through 5th grade

$40 per student

What Should I Bring?

Please send your child with a snack, a packed lunch* and a water bottle. Wear clothes and shoes that you are comfortable moving and playing in.

 

*Please note - we are a NUT FREE space!

 

Who will be our Teaching Artist?

Dr. Katherine E. Norman will lead the April Create-A-Play Day. Katherine has worked as a theatre educator with tens of thousands of students of all ages all over the world. She holds a PhD in Educational Psychology, is a licensed New York State child care provider, and is excited to make art with students all over the North Country!
